We have traveled from places where piles of feces pave the streets and you encounter more suffering than you could ever imagine, to the home of what is considered by many to be the finest building on earth -- the Taj Mahal. And wow, is Agra a completely different experience from the India we have seen to date.
Sure, you still see horrible slums. Yes, you are constantly hassled by touts for everything from transport (cycle rickshaw, auto rickshaw, taxi, or horse-drawn carriage) to jewelry to postcards. But the roads are nicely paved and far less congested with people and animals. And the slums are built in actual concrete bunkers rather than out of muddy scraps of tin and tarp. And, frankly, there's just less sh*t in the streets. That counts for a lot.
the taj mahal is such an amazing place to see. i am unsure how they made it.
